FAQ

What type of events do ScoutMed cover?

Large one-day district and county events through to multi day International camps with several thousand participants.

What parts of the UK does ScoutMed cover?

This depends on the scale and duration of the event; as most of our current members are based in the home counties we tend to concentrate on that area. However, we are able to cover any part of the UK subject to logistics .

What does ScoutMed charge?

It is difficult to provide an exact figure, as each event is different. ScoutMed exists for the benefit of Scouting, and as such we do not look to make any profit from Scouting events. Due to the various supplier relationships and other connections we have established, we can often source cover at prices well below those of other voluntary providers. If you would like a no- obligation quote please contact us with your requirements .

Does ScoutMed cover non-Scouting events?

Where we have availability we can provide services to the wider youth community, and other organisations .

How does ScoutMed work with event organisers?

We appreciate that it is important to work in partnership with the organising team to fully establish the on-site provision needed, and develop a meaningful working relationship during the initial stages. This is undertaken by drawing on the experience of both the organisers and our own team members who have considerable knowledge in this field from both a scouting, and professional background including health and safety, event licensing and safety assessments .

How does ScoutMed ensure a safe standard of practice?

As a National Fellowship we are fully compliant with POR, including CRB, Child Protection etc. To supplement this we have adopted an internal range of clinical guidelines and protocols, which are in accordance with the national standards. These cover areas such as, treatment, patient consent and confidentiality, code of conduct, fitness to practice standards, access to medical records etc. Copies of which may be obtained by writing to the Fellowship's Secretary.

Can I join ScoutMed?

We are always looking for new volunteers to join the Fellowship. If you are interested please email your full personal details, including relevant qualifications and experience to membership@scoutmed.org
